A Collectibles Primer - Diecast Toy Trucks

Collecting diecast toy trucks is among the most popular hobbies for kids of all ages. For those who are considering starting a diecast toy truck collection, or for those who are searching for a gift for a toy truck enthusiast, here are some points to consider.

Types of Diecast Vehicles

If you've accumulated a few diecast toy trucks and are considering expanding your collection, you should consider whether your interests are confined exclusive to toy trucks or if you also want to collect, for example, diecast cars. Some people like to specialize, while others have a broader interest in diecast vehicles. It's best to decide ahead of time what your collection will encompass before you wind up with 3000 toys, only 100 of which really thrill you. You definitely don't want to create a toy truck city and then decide only motor city classics will do.

Brands of Toy Trucks

Again, it's time to ask yourself a question: Do you want to limit your collection to a single brand of collectible diecast toy trucks, or do you enjoy collecting all brands of toy trucks? If you're giving a diecast toy truck as a gift, it's important to learn whether or not the collector in your life has a brand preference. Perhaps he or she collects only Sunstar toy trucks, First Gear toy trucks, Caterpillar (also known as "CAT") toy trucks, New Ray toy trucks, or Tonkin toy trucks. If so, make sure you purchase a diecast toy truck that will fit his or her collection.

Scales of Toy Trucks

Similar to model trains, diecast toy trucks and cars come in a variety of scales. Typically, the scales are as follows: 1:18, 1:24, 1:43, and 1:64. Some people prefer to collect only one scale of diecast toy trucks, while other's hobbies incorporate collecting a variety of scales.

Cataloguing a Collection

One of the challenges that many collectors face - particularly after they've been collecting diecast toy trucks for several years - is that they don't remember exactly what they have. Collectors have come up with a variety of methods for cataloging their collections. The earlier you start cataloging, the better off you'll be. If you're looking for a gift for your favorite collector, supplying him or her with the tools necessary to catalog his or her collection is a great idea.

One idea for cataloging is to buy a "milk crate" type of box and color-coded folders at an office supply store. You can create a folder for each item in your collection, and include receipts, photos, the owner's registration, and so forth in the folder. If you have a variety of types of diecast toy trucks, you can use color-coded folders to separate them by type. Another method of cataloging is to buy one or more binders and sheet protectors, and create one sheet for each item in your collection, and keep them together in a binder.

Collecting diecast toy trucks is fun and rewarding. Adding to your collection, receiving toy trucks as gifts, and trading or selling items from your collection can provide you with hours of enjoyment.

Download Unlimited PSP Games For Free

So you just got back from Best Buy or Circuit City with your new PSP or it just arrived in the mail after you ordered it online. It's not every day that you spend that kind of money on a cool new toy, so now it's time to get some cool games for your new toy. The only problem is that you are a little confused about where to go and get some games so you can get started playing. Maybe you even picked up a game or two at the store where you bought the PSP. You soon realize that buying games for your PSP is going to cost more than you think, because you are always going to want the latest titles. Not to mention the need to watch movies on the PSP if you ever travel. So how can you possibly afford to use this new to it's fullest?

You're so frustrated that you even consider returning it to the store for fear you will get in too much debt trying to keep up with all the latest games out there. Well don't fret! There are tons of websites all over the internet that offer plethora of PSP game downloads. Not to mention these same websites offer free music and movies for your new PSP device.

Okay, so where do you find these nice sites? It's as simple going online and opening up Google or any other search engine and running a search for free PSP games. From there you can begin comparing some of the different services available to find which is best for your PSP. Good luck deciding on the right one and there are tons and tons to choose from. You probably had no idea.

Since you're bank account is hurting after your purchase of your new PSP, you will probably be looking most at the sites offering free PSP game downloads. After all, what's better free or paying for something? I hate to break it to you but the free sites are not your best bet source when it comes to getting these games. Once you download a game there is a huge risk that its files will be hacked into. These sites can bring harmful spyware, malware, and viruses to your computers as well as your PSP device. Trust me, you want to avoid these sites. Free is great, but some things will really hurt you in the long run if you don't pay for quality.

So you really need to do your homework and choose a site from a trusted source. One that has been in business a while and thousands of satisfied users. One that is secure and virus free. If you follow those guidelines you should be fine. Most of these types of sites will offer free PSP downloads after you pay a one time membership fee that is usually about the price of a single game. Well worth the money and the peace of mind.

One of This Year's Hottest Christmas Toys is Elmo Live by Fisher-Price

Which child, or even adult, wouldn't want a toy that tells jokes and stories, sings and dances and also performs a bit of physical comedy? When us parents were kids we could not even have dreamed of toys and dolls that were so interactive and educational.  For us as kids 'educational' toys  meant 'boring' toys.  How times change!  Precisely due to its ability to interact, educate and entertain Elmo Live, based on the Sesame Street Character Elmo, is going to be one of the hottest toys this year. Just as in previous years when the Tickle Me Elmo took the Christmas toy market by storm, this toy will be one gift your kids will definitely want in their stocking on Christmas morning.

Elmo Live is another Fisher-Price toy and the company has a great track record with educational toys that are also great fun for your kids to play with.  Research has shown that children learn best when they are having fun - it doesn't feel like learning - and this generation of children are luckier than their parents in this respect as the latest technology has allowed for the production of a range of toys that entertain as they educate.  Indeed the new Elmo Live doll is being heralded as having the most advanced movement for any doll on the market today. The closest Elmo product that can be compared with this one is the 'extreme edition', but Elmo Live goes way beyond anything that that could do. These latest animatronic dolls are able to interact with kids in a way never before possible and this stimulates their senses and aids development of motor skills, creative thinking skills and problem solving skills.

Children and adults alike will love Elmo Live due to the incredible animatronics that the doll features, combined with the fact that he is a known and loved

character, he is fun to watch and the price is actually quite affordable. It will make for a fantastic toy for all children over 18 months old. Read more about this year's hottest gifts for kids [http://www.helpihaveababy.com/category/christmas].
